Respect Energy, a prominent Polish energy trader, has announced the signing of a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with photovoltaic (PV) developer PVE Group to supply nearly 63 GWh of renewable electricity per year to customers throughout Poland.
The agreement, set to extend through the end of 2035, underscores both companies' commitment to accelerating the country’s renewable energy transition.
The renewable electricity will be generated by a portfolio of 11 solar parks with a combined capacity of 57.3 MW, situated across Poland's western and northwestern regions in the West Pomeranian, Lubusz, and Wielkopolskie Voivodeships. With debt financing provided by Poland’s Bank Pekao, construction of the PV parks is anticipated to drive forward green energy goals, contributing clean energy to the Polish grid and supporting regional development.
The PPA represents a significant milestone in PVE Group’s transformation into an independent power producer (IPP), establishing it as a direct provider of renewable energy in the Polish market. Meanwhile, Respect Energy reinforces its position in the market with a growing portfolio of long-term renewable energy contracts, contributing to a stable, sustainable supply of clean energy.
"This agreement supports our goal of expanding our portfolio with secure, stable pricing for green energy,” said a spokesperson for Respect Energy. Earlier this year, Respect Energy similarly committed to a renewable PPA with the France-based Eurowatt Group to procure the output from the 31.5-MW Potegowo wind farm, further diversifying its renewable energy sources.
The partnership between Respect Energy and PVE Group is a robust response to the rising demand for green energy in Poland, supporting the country’s renewable energy targets and aligning with broader European sustainability goals.
