Review: 3rd Solar Energy Storage Future Malaysia 2024

The 3rd Solar Energy Storage Future Malaysia 2024 concluded with huge success paving the way for a more advanced and prosperous solar future in Malaysia.

The one-day event organized by Energy Box was held in Kuala Lumpur on 8th October.The conference provided participants with the opportunity to gain insight into Malaysia’s energy market and promote business cooperation among global companies. The timing is particularly important as Malaysia plans to deploy about 269 GW of photovoltaic installations by 2040 to urge the energy transition.


The event kicked off with a keynote speech by Davis Chong, president of the Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association.

The event’s first panel discussion was held on “Towards a Low Carbon Future in Asia:

Trends and Applications of Solar PV and Energy Storage Technologies”

 

The speakers were:

  • Abdul Manaf Ahmad Fawzan - Associate Director at Levanta Renewables

  • Ts. Idzat Naqeuddin - CEO at Voltek Energy

  • Daxino Lim - Senior Business Development Manager at ENGlE South East Asia

  • Murali Haripalan - Technical Director at Bolt Industries Pte Ltd

 

The session was moderated by Noor Shahiwan - Founder at Suncrox Solar.

Following the panel discussion, Leon Liu, the Asia Pacific account manager of Ksheng Solar, delivered a keynote speech, introducing the company’s full-scene solar stent solutions in detail.


Leon Liu, through Kseng’s rooftop and ground-mounting racking system projects in Malaysia, Thailand, China, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Finland, and other global locations, has showcased the advantages of Kseng's steel rooftop photovoltaic (PV) mounting systems and Zn-Al-Mg Coated Steel Ground Mounting System.


Kseng color-coated steel tile roof support system is practical, flexible and stable, with strong tensile resistance, convenient installation, professional and customized design for different tiles, which can realize the perfect matching effect of fixture and color steel tile, and effectively reduce the installation time to reduce the cost. It has become the preferred scheme of distributed photovoltaic power station in Southeast Asia. Zn-Al-Mg Coated Steel Ground Mounting has strong surface self-repair ability, strong corrosion resistance, long service life and low maintenance cost, which is widely praised in the Southeast Asian market.


By June 2024, Kseng has completed the global shipment of nearly 15GW of solar bracket, with the first share of aluminum alloy solar bracket market in Japan and South Korea, and the first growth rate of aluminum alloy solar bracket market in Europe and China.

Following this, Jacky Chan, Sales Director of Huasun HJT, delivered a speech on the topic of “Huasun Heterojunction Powers the Future of Smart Cities”. Jacky Chan discussed the background and development process of the company, the development context and prospect of heterojunction, an efficient photovoltaic power generation technology, and focus on sharing the Himalaya G12 series and Qomolangma G12R rectangular photovoltaic products. He also introduced that with a solid research and development foundation, Huasun is actively promoting the research and development of 800W + heterojunction-perovskite laminate components.

 

With a capacity of 20 GW HJT products, Huasun ranks as the largest HJT manufacturer in the world. The company has supplied more than 7 GW of HJT products to over 40 countries worldwide.

It was followed by a panel discussion on “Large-Scale Solar Projects in Asia:

Current Status and Future Potential”

The event was followed by a presentation from Jensen Wong, Asia Pacific Technical Support Manager for Seraphim Solar. He introduced the company’s background and position in the renewable energy industry, shared several successful projects, and compared the performance of actual and target assets. Jensen Wong Also detailed Seraphim storage solutions and its application characteristics, and finally highlighted CRRCs ability to manufacture power electronics, highlighting its increased reliability and competitiveness of Seraphim products.

 

By 2024, Seraphim has reached a 13GW global production capacity. It has earned the Tier 1 distinction from BNEF for 10 consecutive years, and the Top Performer distinction from PVEl 5 times. The excellent performance of Seraphim products has been widely verified under various natural conditions in more than 120 countries and areas to date.

This was followed by another panel discussion session on “Renewable Energy Development in Asia: Examining the Impact of Policy, Regulations, and Strategies on the Growth of Clean Energy”

Another panel discussion was focused on “Asia Rooftop Solar Overview 2024: Challenges, Experiences and Opportunities”.

The session was moderated by Ir. Norul Rafiq Namas Khan, C. Eng. - Director / Independent Consultant at Volta Forensic

Following this, Risen Energy’s Sales Director Bruce Bai discussed HJT module and ESS

the comprehensive portfolio for achieving energy efficiency, independence, and sustainability. He also introduced the milestones in the development of the company and HJT products, focused on fuxi components, and showed us the HJT global generation map, explaining the energy storage solutions and their application characteristics.

Meanwhile, the event had a next panel discussion on “The Solar&ESS Investment Landscape in Asia: How are investors, corporates and policymakers collaborating to drive change?”

The event was followed by a presentation from Sally Sun, Senior Sales Manager Asia at GoodWe. She described the need for BIPV in Malaysia to solar every building through GoodWe one-stop solar solutions. When discussing the use case of industrial and commercial energy storage roof, Sun highlighted the Galaxy series and its advantages; also include the application of Polaris series in the use of parking shed and canopy.

Sally Sun’s session was followed by a panel discussion on “Energy Storage Asia: Scaling up Energy Storage Project in Facilitating Green Economy Transition”

Likewise, the final panel discussion of the conference was focused on “Asia RE Investment Landscape: Overcoming Barriers to Green Economy Accelerating the Energy Transition.”
