Samaiden Group picked as solar power producer by EC in Malaysia

Renewable energy company Samaiden Group has been picked as one of the solar power producers by the Energy Commission (EC) in Malaysia.

It has been selected under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP).

According to Samaiden, its wholly owned subsidiary Samaiden Sdn Bhd (SSB) has been awarded an export capacity of 13.42 megawatts (MWac) under the CGPP.

In addition, SSB has secured a quota of 29.90Mwac which means the total capacity has increased to 43.32MWac. It will work in a consortium with Premier Supreme Sdn Bhd.

According to Samaiden, the total quota of 800MWac has been fully subscribed to the selection of successful solar power producers from the second batch of applications, a local report mentioned.

"We are honoured to be recognised by the EC and to take part in this transformative green initiative. This selection is a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication and technical excellence in the field of renewable energy," Samaiden group managing director Chow Pui Hee, was quoted in a statement.

The commercial operation of both solar power plants is set for 2025.
