The Prime Minister of the RS, Radovan Višković, signed a memorandum today in Banja Luka with the Masco group from Saudi Arabia, which should build solar power plants in Bijeljina.
At the press conference that took place after the signing of the contract, Višković said that the Masco Group in Saudi Arabia is already building a large facility for extracting hydrogen from oil and water, and that it chose this entity because of the favorable environment.
“This is one of the initial steps of cooperation between the RS and this group. We are embarking on significantly larger projects related to road infrastructure and some projects such as the use of hydrogen as a fuel for the operation of heavy machinery,” Višković said.
He also spoke about the significant investments of this group in the RS.
“We talked with friends and offered that in the future, the RS will be the destination for supplying the European market with hydrogen from Saudi Arabia,” said Višković.
The 60 megawatt solar power plant in Bijeljina will be built on land owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska. The value of the construction of the solar power plant is estimated at 70 million euros, Klix.ba writes.
