Shizen has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Terengganu Inc to develop solar projects in Malaysia

Shizen International Inc., a subsidiary of the Shizen Energy Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd (Terengganu Inc.), the investment arm of the Terengganu State Government. This MoU, signed on August 6, 2024, at Wisma Darul Iman, will explore the development of ground-mounted solar power projects in Terengganu.


The MoU was formalized by Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed, President and Group CEO of Terengganu Inc., and Ryo Ogawa, Chief Operating Officer of Shizen International. Key attendees included Khairul Nizam bin Khalid Mirza, Vice President of Group Corporate Strategy and Planning at Terengganu Inc.; Reza Ikram, CEO of Shizen Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.; YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya, Terengganu State Secretary; YB Mohd Nurkhuzaini Ab Rahman, Chairman of the State Digital Economy, New Income, Trade, Industrial, and Green Technology Committee; and Hiroki Koga, Representative Director of Shizen International.


Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed expressed enthusiasm about the MoU, noting, “We are confident that this partnership will help us explore new ground-mounted solar opportunities and enhance state revenue through the green economy. This collaboration is expected to open strategic avenues for Terengganu Inc. and the State Government to advance green technology initiatives.”


Hiroki Koga from Shizen International emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with Terengganu Inc. and the Terengganu State Government reinforces our commitment to expanding renewable energy in Malaysia. Our joint efforts aim to boost local socio-economic development and support Terengganu Inc.’s goal of achieving a 35% renewable energy capacity by 2025. The initiative promises environmental benefits, reduced carbon emissions, and promotes clean energy, while also supporting local economies and communities. Our actions reflect our dedication to environmental stewardship.”


The MoU represents a significant step forward in advancing renewable energy in Terengganu, aligning with both state and national sustainability and green economic growth objectives.
