Solar Power Triumph in South Sudan: Juba's PV Park Lights Up Excitement Globally!

Juba Solar PV Park is a 20MW solar PV power project. It is planned in Central Equatoria, South Sudan. According to GlobalData, who tracks and profiles over 170,000 power plants worldwide, the project is currently at the under construction stage. It will be developed in a single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.


Description


The project is being developed by Elsewedy Electric T&D and is currently owned by South Sudan Electricity with a stake of 100%.Juba Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 25 hectares.The project is expected to generate 29,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 58,000 households. The project is expected to offset 12,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.


Development status


Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.


Contractors involved


Asunim Solar Energy Systems Contracting is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
