Spain’s Iberdrola to acquire 98MW wind and solar project portfolio in Poland

Spanish energy company Iberdrola is all set to acquire a 98MW wind and solar project portfolio in Poland.

For this, the company has already conducted a preliminary agreement. It signed a acquisition deal with Augusta Energy, which is a joint venture company of V-ridium Power Group and asset management firm KGAL.

It has been informed that this portfolio includes two wind farms with a combined capacity of 50MW, and six solar photovoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 48MW.

According to the company, all these projects are currently in development and likely to come online next year.

The latest acquisition deal has set a path for Iberdrola to enhance its footprint in Poland. With this, the company’s installed capacity in Poland will reach 261MW.

“Iberdrola is also developing several offshore wind technology projects in Poland and is participating in the Polish government’s call for tenders for different areas of the Baltic Sea. The projects will be incorporated into the Baltic Sea Hub, the group’s hub that will act as the epicentre of its renewable activity in Germany, Poland and Sweden,” Iberdrola said in its statement.

According to Iberdrola, it has around 39,000MW of total renewable capacity.
