Statkraft and Better Energy have joined hands to trade energy from four solar parks in Poland.

The duo has already inked power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the same.

Under the agreement, Statkraft will purchase green energy from Better Energy’s Krapkowice solar park for 10 years.

Krapkowice solar park has the capacity to generate 30GWh of renewable energy annually.

The duo has been working together since 2021 on the Resko solar park, which has an expected annual production capacity of 40GWh, they informed. The duo has also agreed for two other Better Energy solar parks, Helenowo and Nidzica.

Mikkel Thorup, Director of PPAs at Better Energy, was quoted in a statement, “The expansion of our comprehensive partnership with Statkraft, one of Europe’s largest energy companies, is an important step forward for Better Energy in Poland and great news for the Polish energy transition.”

He further stated, “PPAs are seen as an important tool for increasing renewable energy production in Poland, reducing the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, while providing companies with the opportunity to purchase affordable green energy.”

With the latest partnership, there will be four solar parks which will enabling Statkraft to offtake 150GWh of green energy from Better Energy solar parks.
