Sunview Group joins hand with KTPC for solar PV projects in Malaysia

Sunview Group Bhd has entered into a partnership with Kulim Technology Park Corp Sdn Bhd (KTPC) for solar PV projects in Malaysia.

Sunview will work through its wholly owned subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, while KTPC is wholly owned by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah.

The duo has already inked a two-year strategic business alliance.

“The scope of collaboration involves promoting and developing potential rooftop and large-scale solar PV projects at Kulim Hi-Tech Park where Sunview will act as a technical partner to provide services such as the installation of solar PV panel, system mechanical and electrical installation, operations and management services, project management and liaison with relevant authorities for the adoptions of solar renewable energy (RE),” the company said in a statement.

To be noted, KTPC handles the development and management of KHTP, which is a national project funded by the government.

Sunview COO and ED Charlie Chow Kian Hung remarked that the strategic partnership will “serve as a platform to assist more Malaysian companies in adoptions of RE in KHTP.”

He further stated that RE accounts for 7% of Malaysia’s electricity generation capacity by 2021.

The duo informed that the project will enable “Kulim Hi-Tech Park to be in the forefront in green energy industrial parks in Malaysia.” The project is in line with Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap of achieving 31% share of RE in the national energy capacity mix by 2025, the statement further reads.
