Telis Energy, a European renewables development platform backed by private equity major Carlyle (NASDAQ:CG), has set foot in the Italian market by launching a local unit that will seek to develop 3 GW of battery storage and hybrid renewable energy projects.
Telis Energy Italy, as the new subsidiary is called, will focus on the development of solar and other renewable energy technologies and combine them with integrated energy storage.
The Italian business is led by Marco Petrone, who has been involved in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors globally for over 15 years. Highlighting Italy's "considerable potential and a significant need for energy storage," he said that the company has already originated over 1,000 MWh of standalone battery storage projects and over 100 MWp of hybrid renewable energy schemes across several Italian regions.
Set up at end-2022, London-based Telis Energy aims to deliver a project pipeline of more than 10 GW by 2030. The company is currently present in the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.
