German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG said on Monday that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for an 80-MW solar project in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Touted as the largest solar park in the state, the facility will produce enough clean electricity to meet the needs of about 30,000 homes once operational in mid-2025, according to a press statement.
The plant, spanning 80 hectares, is being constructed in Langenenslingen municipality. EnBW, which builds and will operate the plant, partnered with project developer SolNet GmbH through the land-use planning process and to secure the site for the project.
The Langenenslingen project is being realised without any funding under the Renewable Energies Act (EEG).
