French energy company TotalEnergies is set to explore potential green energy projects in Brazil.
The company will work in collaboration with Brazilian state group Petrobras and renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos.
It has already inked a deal with Petrobras and joint venture company Casa dos Ventos “to investigate investment and offtake opportunities in onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, and low-carbon hydrogen in the region.”
According to the companies, the agreement is valid for two years and will seek to develop profitable renewable energy opportunities.
TotalEnergies has previously worked with Petrobras on various projects in the past. It has been active in Brazil for nearly half a century.
Meanwhile, the company informed that its foray into Brazil’s green power sector began with a $600 million deal to create a joint venture with Casa dos Ventos. Similarly, Petrobras has unveiled plans for additional offshore wind projects.
The collaboration among companies has stressed Brazil's potential as a favorable environment for renewable energy development.
