UK's 35 MW Battery Storage Project Powered Up by Harmony Energy

British battery energy storage systems (BESS) owner and operator Harmony Energy Income Trust plc announced today that it has successfully energised a 35-MW/70-MWh project in the UK.

The Rusholme BESS is located in North Yorkshire and its construction was managed by Tesla. The battery will be operated through Tesla's algorithmic trading platform Autobidder.


The facility is expected to become fully operational in all markets in early August 2024.

The Rusholme site marks the sixth project to be energised by Harmony Energy which now has a total operational capacity of 312.5 MW/625 MWh. Two other battery systems are currently under construction -- the 33-MW/66-MWh Wormald Green and the Hawthorn Pit of 49.9 MW/99.8 MWh, which are scheduled to be powered up this quarter.
