Spanish power and gas utility Visalia has secured the supply of electricity from a new 27.5-MWp solar farm in southern Spain, it said on Monday in a LinkedIn post.
The company signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure plc to procure the supply for close to ten years.
The contracted electricity will be generated by solar farm that Atlantica will install in the village of Caparecena, Granada province. The plant will be operational in 2026.
Visalia said that part of the supply under the PPA will be allocated to its energy bank to help families living in energy poverty.
Atlantica, according to its website, currently has 682MW of operational solar capacity distributed across eight sites in Spain.
