Voltalia to build 1.5GW solar photovoltaic cluster in Brazil

French renewable energy company Voltalia is all set to develop a solar photovoltaic (PV) cluster in Brazil.

The PV cluster with more than 1.5GW of capacity will be built in Minas Gerais in the Arinos region.

According to Voltalia, the new solar cluster will be developed both for its own account and for third parties.

According to the company, it has already joined hands with different companies, including CTG Brasil for the same. CTG Brasil will acquire a major portion of the solar sites.

Meanwhile, Voltalia is also developing large solar clusters in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia. These two solar clusters will have a capacity of 2.4GW and more than 1GW respectively.

Voltalia CEO Sébastien Clerc commented, “With the launch of the Arinos cluster, Voltalia has confirmed its ability to carry out very large-scale projects in Brazil as an energy producer and service provider."

He further stated that the company has been developing large wind and solar clusters for around 10 years. The company aims to produce renewable energy and make it accessible to a large number of people.

Voltalia has a pipeline of 5.1GW of future capacity under development in Brazil. It has a remarkable presence in the Brazilian wind, solar and hydropower segment.
