Voltalia has unveiled plans for an over 1500MW solar power complex called Arinos in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
The company said Arinos will be developed on its own account and also on behalf of third parties.
It has already signed partnerships, including with CTG Brazil.
Upon approval, the partners will purchase a significant portion of the Arinos complex's solar sites once the development phase of each site is completed and shortly before construction begins.
Voltalia has developed the 2.4GW Serra Branca complex in the state of Rio Grande do Norte and the over 1GW Canudos in Bahia.
Voltalia chief executive Sebastien Clerc said: “With the launch of the Arinos complex, Voltalia confirms its commitment to carrying out very large-scale projects in Brazil, as an energy producer and as a service provider.
“For almost 10 years, we have been successfully developing these large wind and solar complexes to produce renewable energy accessible to as many people as possible, an objective at the heart of our mission.”
