Votalia powers up Albanian PV project

Voltalia has started production of its 140MW solar project, located in the district of Fier, in southern Albania.

The Karavasta power plant can generate electricity equivalent to the consumption of 220,000 people.

The entire capacity of the plant is secured by long-term power purchase contracts with public and private players, Voltalia said. 

Voltalia chief executive Sébastien Clerc said: "I would like to express my gratitude to all the stakeholders who have contributed to the realization of this project, including the Albanian Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Voltalia teams."
