X-ELIO receives environmental permit for 339 MW PV plant in Spain

X-ELIO’s solar photovoltaic plant has received environmental approval in Spain.

The facility will have an installed capacity of 339 MW, and is located in Lorca.

The PV plant received Environmental Impact Statement permit from the Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.

The company informed that the new solar photovoltaic plant is likely to produce 748,000MWh of energy during its first year of operation. It will consist of 100% renewable and sustainable energy.

This produced energy will address the annual demand of around 215,000 homes. Besides, it will be helpful to prevent the emission of 148,328 tonnes of CO2.

According to the company, the project had received environmental approval back in 2015, but the project was adapted. A report mentioned, “This includes building more than 15km of the evacuation line underground, reducing the line voltage to 132kV and downsizing the usable area of the project to 381ha.”

It has been informed that the project will have an investment of 270 million euros.

X-ELIO informed that the project will create around 300 jobs during the construction of the plant.
