YPF Luz to develop wind farm with a capacity of 155MW in Argentina

Argentina's YPF Luz is all set to develop its fourth wind farm with a capacity of 155MW in the country.

The project is spread in a total area of 4,360 hectares and located in the town of General Levalle, some 380 km south of the city of Córdoba. The park will have installations of 25 wind turbines of 6.2MW each.

It has been informed that the wind project General Levalle has an approximate investment of more than US$260m. The construction is expected to take some 20 months.

According to the company, the project will avoid the emission of more than 350,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.

YPF Luz chief executive Martín Mandarano was quoted in a statement, "This year YPF Luz celebrates 10 years of generating renewable, efficient and sustainable energy from different parts of the country, with a clear federal vision and betting on generating more and better energy throughout the country.”

He further mentioned that with the latest project, the company has presence in 7 provinces.


The company informed that General Levalle is the company's fourth wind farm.
