Zelestra has officially launched the construction of three solar PV plants—Belinchón I, II, and III—located in Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain.
The total capacity of these plants will be 162 MWdc, significantly contributing to renewable energy efforts in the region.
Upon completion, these projects will prevent the emission of over 71,000 tons of CO2 annually, supporting Zelestra’s commitment to sustainability and decarbonization.
The construction will create over 400 jobs across the various project phases, with operations set to begin in the second quarter of 2026.
Leo Moreno, Zelestra’s CEO, commented: “We are proud to announce the start of these projects, as the new facilities will strengthen our portfolio of operating projects in Spain while allowing us to generate environmental benefits for our home market customers”.
These initiatives are part of Zelestra’s broader commitment to renewable energy through the Energize program. In collaboration with major companies such as Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Teva, UCB, and suppliers like Avantor, Organon, Perrigo, and West Pharmaceutical Services, Zelestra will supply 305 GWh of renewable energy annually for 10 years.
