Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S said today it has agreed financing with Polish lender mBank for the construction of two solar farms in Poland with a combined capacity of 70 MW.
The bank will provide EUR 33.3 million (USD 36.7m) in total for the tow projects, the 16-MW Lobez array and the 54.2-MW Debnica Kaszubska facility. The projects, located in Pomerania and West Pomerania, are already under construction and are expected to be completed in the final quarter of 2024. They will be able to generate 67 GWh a year, the developer estimates.
Once online, the two solar farms will bring European Energy’s renewables operating capacity in Poland to 200 MW.
"Having an agreement with mBank allows us to secure these two new solar farms in Poland and will play a crucial role in the renewable energy buildout in Poland,” commented Olga Sypula, country manager in Poland for European Energy.
