ABO Energy has recently launched its largest solar farm in Hungary, a 20 MW project near Szarvas in the Southeast. Connected to the grid, the solar farm is expected to generate 38,000 MWh annually, enough to power 12,600 households. The sale of the project is planned for the first half of 2025.
The project, which began development in 2021, was completed in October 2024 after securing land, grid connections, and necessary permits. András Kósa, General Manager of ABO Energy Hungary, praised the team’s efforts and thanked local authorities for their cooperation.
In addition to the Szarvas project, ABO Energy is working on three other solar farms in Hungary. Two solar plants near Szolnok (14 MW) are nearly complete and set to be connected to the grid this winter. The 12 MW Karcag farm is under construction and expected to reach mechanical completion by December, with grid connection planned for February 2025.
ABO Energy also sold the rights to a 250 MW solar project in Balotaszállás in April and has a 9 MW solar project near Szakoly in commercial operation since April, scheduled for sale in 2025.
