Acciona Energía has secured a 12-year Contract for Difference (CfD) for its 189MWp Promina photovoltaic plant, currently under development in Sibenik-Knin, southern Croatia. The plant is slated to commence operations in 2027.
The project has received the necessary permit from the Croatian energy regulator, Hrvatski Operator Trzista Energije (HROTE). Upon completion, the Promina plant will be the largest solar facility in Croatia, featuring over 300,000 photovoltaic modules that will generate 320GWh of clean energy annually. This output will be sufficient to meet the power demands of approximately 69,000 homes.
To support the integration of the plant into the national transmission grid, Acciona Energía will construct a new 400kV interconnection substation at the project site.
Acciona Energía emphasized that the Promina project is a significant step in its commitment to the Croatian renewable energy market. In addition to the Promina solar plant, Acciona Energía is also developing wind projects in Opor (27MW), Boraja 2 (45MW), and the Jelinak wind complex (30MW).
Upon completion of these projects, Acciona Energía is expected to become the leading producer of clean energy in Croatia.
