AMPYR Solar Europe has secured financing for a 96 MWp solar PV project in the Netherlands, set to provide clean energy to 30,000 homes by June 2025. The project will cut carbon emissions by over 36,000 tonnes annually.
Spanning 65 hectares near IJsselmeer, it is part of a €200 million multi-project financing from Rabobank. The NOP solar plant will work in tandem with existing wind infrastructure, contributing to an 850 MWp hybrid wind-solar complex, the largest of its kind in the Netherlands.
AMPYR is collaborating with over 30 landowners to overcome grid and design challenges. CEO Tarun Agrawal emphasized the project's innovative integration with wind energy, minimizing environmental impact. Rabobank's Pieter Plantinga highlighted the unique location near dykes and beneath wind turbines.
With this project, AMPYR’s renewable capacity in the Netherlands will exceed 130 MWp, further advancing the country’s energy transition. The company’s European pipeline includes nearly 8 GWp.
