Montpellier-based renewable energy producer Apex Energies has secured €125.4 million in senior debt financing, marking the most significant financing in its history and the second to surpass €100 million. This financing, arranged by Caisse d'Epargne CEPAC, will fund the construction of nearly 250 rooftop and shaded solar power plants with a combined capacity of 70 MWp.
The new financing will help Apex Energies expand its portfolio of solar photovoltaic installations in France. CEPAC has structured the financing to address the unique challenges of managing an extensive, granular portfolio and optimize the construction period with a robust project substitution mechanism.
The projects, built by mid-2025, will span various metropolitan regions and include agricultural hangars, shade houses, and greenhouses. These 250 assets are part of the "Acacia" portfolio, which will eventually consist of over 400 solar power plants. Apex Energies aims to reach 400 MWp of installed solar capacity by the end of 2025 and 1 GW by 2030, up from its current capacity of 250 MWp. To date, the company has completed over 1,000 photovoltaic power plants, both for grid resale and self-consumption.
