August 2025: Germany’s Large-ScaleStorage Continues Steady Growth

In 2024, Germany’s Large-Scale energy storage sector experienced explosive growth, with new installations reaching 471 MW / 800 MWh. This represented the largest single-year addition on record, equivalent to roughly 69% of the combined total capacity added during 2019–2023. Following this surge, the market showed signs of normalization.
From January to August 2025, newly installed large-scale capacity already reached 481.5 MW / 836.1 MWh, marking an increase of ~53.3% in power and ~56.8% in energy year-on-year compared with the same period in 2024 (estimated at 314 MW / 533 MWh, based on prorated distribution of 2024 annual totals).
