BayWa r.e.is all set to develop 50MW Perrinpit Road Solar Farm project in south-west England.

For this, the company is working together with Grüne Energien Solar (GES). The duo has already secured consent for the same.

The construction of the South Gloucestershire project is expected to start in early 2024. It is likely to start commercial operations in 2025.

According to BayWa, there will be both short and long-term jobs during the operation of the 49.9MW project.

BayWa r.e. UK managing director John Milligan was quoted in a statement, “This is an exciting project for our team and we are delighted to work with Grüne Energien again. This is our second 49.9MW project in the UK delivered through our joint venture.’’

He further stated that the Perrinpit Road is significant to meeting the UK’s net-zero carbon emission goals by 2050. It is encouraging to see the local commitment in South Gloucestershire to meet these goals, he was further quoted.

He highlighted on the need of implementation of more renewable energy projects.

GES managing director Marco Pannicke commented, “This is a great achievement and shows the spirit of our joint venture with BayWa r.e. There are many more projects in the pipeline and it is an honour for us to develop renewable energy projects in the UK.”
