The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has temporarily reserved 5,159 acres of land in Beaver County, Utah, for the development of the Star Range Solar Project, a 600 MW solar facility.
Located near Milford, the land will be withdrawn from public laws for two years to allow BLM to conduct an environmental review of the project.
The solar farm will be developed in two phases of 300 MW each and will connect to an existing 345-kV transmission line. Led by 174 Power Global LLC, a subsidiary of South Korea’s Hanwha Group, the project aims to become one of the largest solar installations in Utah, contributing significantly to the region’s clean energy supply.
The Star Range Solar Project is part of 174 Power Global’s broader U.S. expansion, with over 8 GW of renewable energy projects in development, including a 297 MW battery storage project in Nevada and a 150 MW solar project in Colorado.
In addition to these upcoming projects, 174 Power Global has already commissioned 800 MW of solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen plants across the U.S., solidifying its role as a key player in the country’s clean energy transition.
