Turkish company Smart Solar Technologies is set to establish a solar cell and panel factory in Bulgaria, valued at approximately €123 million. The Bulgarian government has designated the project as a priority investment, with most of the factory’s products intended for export to European markets.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Bulgarian government and Smart Solar Technologies to build the facility in Elenino village. The solar cells and panels produced will be exported to key EU countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Austria.
To support the project, the Bulgarian government will create a working group. The factory is expected to generate over 800 jobs, stimulate the local economy, and provide sustainable employment in the Stara Zagora region. This initiative aligns with Bulgaria’s investment promotion policy, which prioritizes projects that contribute significantly to economic growth.
