EOS Investment Management Group (EOS IM) and Capital Dynamics have announced the completion of the sale of a 194 MW utility-scale solar portfolio in Italy, marking a significant milestone in their renewable energy investment strategy.
The portfolio consists of six solar power plants located in the Lazio region, with a total capacity of approximately 194 MWp. Five projects are already operational, while the remaining plant is currently in the process of being connected to the grid. The portfolio represents a strategically important solar platform in the Italian market, contributing to renewable energy generation and CO₂ emissions reduction.
The transaction was carried out through the joint venture EOS IM Capital Dynamics Green Energy S.à r.l. and forms part of both companies’ active portfolio management strategies, aimed at capitalizing on favorable market conditions and optimizing returns for investors.
For EOS IM, the sale reflects its industrial approach to developing and enhancing infrastructure assets, particularly in the context of the energy transition and energy security. Meanwhile, Capital Dynamics highlighted the transaction as a validation of its integrated clean energy investment model, which supports projects from development and permitting through to operation and value realization.
The competitive sale process attracted strong interest from multiple international investors and was ultimately completed with the acquisition by Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company with a portfolio of approximately 12 GW. This outcome underscores the continued investor appetite for large-scale renewable assets in Italy, one of Europe’s most dynamic clean energy markets.
Natalino Mongillo, Managing Partner and Founder of EOS IM, commented that the transaction demonstrates the group’s ability to create value across the full project lifecycle, from development to operation, while delivering attractive returns to investors.
Similarly, Lupo Leonardi, Principal, Clean Energy at Capital Dynamics, emphasized that the sale confirms the effectiveness of the firm’s value-driven investment strategy in Europe, while Dario Bertagna, Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Clean Energy, reiterated the company’s commitment to continued investment in Italy to support energy security and sustainable growth.
Overall, the transaction highlights the maturity of the Italian solar market and the growing role of institutional investors in scaling renewable energy infrastructure, reinforcing the country’s pathway toward a low-carbon energy system.
