The government of Graubünden has granted approval for the construction of a 10.8 MW Alpine photovoltaic plant by Madrisa Solar AG in Prättigau. This project, named "Madrisa," is located in the municipality of Klosters and is based on Art. 71a of the Federal Energy Act. This legislation, established by the Federal Parliament in autumn 2022, aims to facilitate the rapid and straightforward construction of large-scale photovoltaic systems in high mountain areas.
The project in the Züg area of Madrisa, at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters, received approval from the voters of Klosters during the municipal assembly on 22 October 2023. The plant will feature around 25,200 solar modules mounted on substructures, covering an area of about 156,821 square meters, and generating a total output of approximately 10.8 megawatts peak.
The photovoltaic plant will be divided into several sections, with logistical accessibility and connection to the electricity grid already established.
