CORNEX NEW ENERGY CO., LTD. has officially put its 70 GWh lithium battery industrial park in Xiangyang, Hubei into operation, marking the transition of the project from construction and equipment commissioning to full production.
The facility officially began operations on August 30, further consolidating CORNEX's “one headquarters, four bases” manufacturing footprint and strengthening its position as a major global lithium battery manufacturer.

🔋 From Groundbreaking to Production in Just 10 Months
The Xiangyang project broke ground on October 28, 2025, and achieved the delivery of its first products only 10 months later.
Covering approximately:
1,608 mu
the project has a total construction area of around:
1.05 million m²
It is described as one of CORNEX's most highly automated and vertically integrated production bases to date.
The factory will focus on two core markets:
Energy storage + EV batteries
Its production portfolio will include:
100Ah energy storage cells
588Ah energy storage cells
648Ah and higher-capacity large-format storage cells
High-rate fast-charging power batteries
These products are designed around higher safety, efficiency, energy density and performance requirements across different application scenarios.

⚡ 40 Million? No — 400,000 Cells Every Day
Once the facility reaches full production, it is expected to produce nearly:
400,000 battery cells per day
for global markets.
The project is expected to generate annual output value exceeding:
RMB 30 billion
while creating more than:
5,000 jobs
This scale highlights the growing importance of large-scale, automated battery manufacturing capacity as demand expands across both stationary energy storage and electric mobility.
🏭 Automation + Flexible Manufacturing
According to CORNEX Chairman Dai Deming, the Xiangyang project came online two months ahead of its original schedule.
The facility is equipped with highly automated systems, high-precision equipment and high-speed flexible production lines capable of manufacturing CORNEX's next-generation products.
The production system is designed to support batteries featuring:
Large capacity + high energy efficiency + long cycle life + high-rate performance.
🌍 Why This Matters for the Global Battery Market
The significance of the Xiangyang project goes beyond simply adding another 70 GWh production line.
CORNEX is positioning the facility around two rapidly expanding battery markets simultaneously:
Energy Storage
and
Electric Mobility
This dual-track strategy gives the company a broader product and application base as global demand for batteries continues to diversify.
The company says it will continue increasing R&D investment, expanding product applications and developing higher-performance battery solutions to meet the increasingly diverse requirements of global market.

🔎 The Bigger Picture
The key takeaway is therefore not simply:
CORNEX has added 70 GWh of capacity.
It is that the company is accelerating the integration of:
Large-scale manufacturing + intelligent production + energy storage + EV batteries
into a single manufacturing platform.
As battery demand increasingly shifts toward larger-format cells, higher efficiency and longer-duration applications, manufacturing scale and production flexibility could become increasingly important competitive advantages.
CORNEX's Xiangyang facility represents another step in the company's strategy to expand its battery manufacturing capabilities and serve global energy-transition markets.
