Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital (DDVMH) has embraced sustainability by signing a 15-year agreement with EEI Power Corporation for a 145.2-kilowatt solar rooftop grid-tied system at its annex.

Aligned with the Department of Energy’s sustainability initiative, this move is expected to bring cost savings and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the hospital.

The project supports the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) and aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. The solar panel installation for Phase I is set to begin in February 2024, with completion expected by April 2024.

EEI Power Corp. will charge DDVMH based on monthly consumption at a fixed rate of Php 6.28 per kilowatt-hour. DDVMH’s commitment to environmental advocacy includes membership in “Healthcare Without Harm,” promoting eco-friendly projects like solar panels.

EEI Power Corp. will handle maintenance during the contract period and transfer the asset to DDVMH in the 16th year at a low cost, ensuring a ‘win-win partnership’ for a brighter, greener tomorrow.
