Edison Next and Bekaert have signed a twelve-year on-site PPA for the plant in the province of Cagliari. The photovoltaic system will cover an area of approximately 23,000 square meters.
Edison Next and Bekaert have signed an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) lasting 12 years, which provides for the installation of a photovoltaic system with a total power of 6.1 MW at the Bekaert plant in Macchiareddu (Cagliari). Bekaert is an international group, expert in steel wire processing and coating technologies.
The plant will cover an area of approximately 23,000 square meters. It should have an annual electricity production of more than 11.2 GWh, the Edison Group company said.
Bekaert Sardinia should self-consume 93% of the renewable electricity generated. The plant is expected to meet more than 20% of the plant's current energy demand.
The on-site PPA represents a solution through which Edison Next designs, installs and manages a photovoltaic system directly at the customer's premises.
