German wind and solar parks operator Encavis AG has achieved financial close on a 260MW solar project in the German municipality of Bartow after securing EUR 145 million (USD 156.9m) to fund the construction works.
The financing was arranged by Encavis Asset Management AG and will be provided by German lender Commerzbank AG Encavis said in a press statement published today.
The Bartow project is located about 150 kilometres (93.2 mi) north of Berlin. Most of its output has been contracted by chemicals group LyondellBasell.
The initial phase's construction started in March 2024, with the whole project set to be finished in the second half of 2025.
Encavis describes the scheme as the second-largest facility of its kind in Germany. It is part of the portfolio of the Encavis Infrastructure Fund IV (EIF IV).
