Encavis AG, a leading independent power producer (IPP) in Europe, has announced the acquisition of a significant solar farm in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn, Bavaria. The project was acquired from FRONTERIS Gruppe and represents the largest solar installation for Encavis in the Bavarian region to date.
The solar installation has been under construction since September 2024 and is on track for grid connection by the second quarter of 2025. Once operational, the 62 MW facility will generate an estimated 67 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy annually. This output is secured under a 20-year EEG feed-in tariff, ensuring stable revenue for the long term.
"With a generating capacity of 62 MW, the solar park in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn is our largest solar park in Bavaria to date. With this first joint project with FRONTERIS, we bring our total wind and solar generation capacity in Germany (on grid and under construction) to 780 MW," said Mario Schirru, CIO/COO of Encavis.
