Estonian energy group Enefit said on Friday it has been chosen to facilitate the electricity supply that Danish confectionery company Toms Group will receive under an existing solar power off-take deal in Poland.
Deliveries of the green power volumes will take place under a three-party contract between Enefit, Toms Group and Danish renewable energy company Better Energy. The latter already has in place a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the sugar confectionery producer for roughly 1 GWh of green power for use at its chocolate factory in Nowa Sol, Lubusz Voivodeship.
Under the PPA, Toms Group will get electricity from a new 20-MW photovoltaic (PV) park that Better Energy installed without state subsidies. The deal with Enefit will enable the direct supply of the plant’s output to Toms Group’s production site, the Estonian group explained.
Enefit is part of energy group Eesti Energia.
