Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S has secured PLN 118 million (approx. USD 31 million / EUR 27 million) in project financing from mBank to refinance three renewable energy projects in Poland totaling 33 MW.
The loan covers:
the 8 MW Debsko wind farm
the 15 MW Sulimierz solar park
the 10 MW Krzecin solar park
Initially funded through the company's own capital, two of these projects benefit from Poland’s auction-based Contract for Difference (CfD) mechanism, which ensures stable revenues and boosts long-term financial security.
With the new funding, European Energy Polska CEO Olga Sypula stated that the company will be able to reallocate capital into further renewable energy developments already in progress across the country.
Active in Poland since 2006, European Energy now has close to 4 GW of wind, solar, and battery storage projects in the pipeline. As of December 2024, the developer's total installed capacity in Poland reached nearly 200 MW, following the commissioning of its 54 MW Debnica solar park.
