Forster Group, a Scottish company specializing in integrated roofing and solar solutions, has announced the successful completion of one of its largest contracts to date, installing over 700 roof-mounted solar panels for Fife Creamery. This significant project covers an area equivalent to five tennis courts and is a milestone in the company’s efforts in the food and drink sector.
Commissioned after a £230,000 investment, the installation was carried out for Fife Creamery's Innovation Hub and refrigeration warehouse in Kirkcaldy. In addition to the solar panels, Forster Group installed an energy storage battery, enabling the facility to store and use energy efficiently at optimal times, furthering Fife Creamery's sustainability objectives.
The installation was completed in just eight days by a skilled team, showcasing Forster Group's advanced technology. The solar panel system is designed to deliver an immediate energy output of 211 kilowatt peak (kWp), with an extra capacity of 200 kWp available through battery storage.
Over the next two decades, Fife Creamery anticipates saving more than £3.1 million in energy costs and potentially reducing its carbon footprint by as much as 104,000 kg within the first year of operation.
