Solar projects with a combined capacity of 911.5 MWp have secured the winning status in France’s latest tender for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power capacity, which ended with a slight undersubscription.
The 92 successful projects were secured at an average price of EUR 81.9 (USD 89.12) per MWh, down from EUR 82.42/MWh in the previous call, the Ministry of Ecological Transition announced. The proposals were launched in the fifth tender period for ground-mounted PV capacity under the country’s PPE2 multi-year energy procurement programme.
The total capacity on offer was 925 MWp. The full list of successful bidders is available here.
The data, analysed by consultancy Finegreen, shows that energy group EDF is the leader in terms of secured capacity with 191.4 MWp of awards. Neoen and Urbasolar follow with 118.9 MWp and 78.3 MWp, respectively.
With the PPE2 initiative, France seeks to allocate almost 29 GW of renewable power generation capacity through end-2026 by holding tech-neutral tenders and calls for rooftop and ground-mounted PV, onshore wind. The ultimate target for ground-mounted solar PV installations to be awarded through the subsidy programme is 9.4 GW.
