
Grupo Greening has kicked off construction of a recycling and recovery plant for solar panel materials in Spain.
The Spanish clean energy solutions provider launched the project in a town in Granada province in southern part of the country. The project is located in Jerez del Marquesado.
It has been informed that the factory will have a recycling capacity of 9,000 tonnes of photovoltaic panels annually.
Greening Relive, the company’s e-waste recycling business, will lead this initiative. “The facility would separate and recover up to 99% of the solar panel materials using a zero CO2 emissions process,” it was quoted.
According to the company, it has allocated EUR 3.6 million for this project. Out of this amount, at least 3 million will be used to build the facility, while 0.6 million will be used for research and development part.
