German solar developer ib vogt GmbH has placed 88.78 MWp of new solar capacity in Spain under a virtual power purchase agreement (vPPA) with Corning Inc, a US material science company.
The vPPA supports ib vogt’s Pato solar farm project in Segovia, which is set to reach its commercial operation date in the second quarter of 2025, the German firm said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Pato plant will consist of bifacial single-portrait solar panels mounted on trackers, gaining the ability to generate around 215.6 GWh of electricity annually. Its output, as established in the vPPA, will enable Corning’s facilities to offset their power consumption with renewable energy, ib vogt stated.
Pato is part of ib vogt’s Segovia solar power cluster totalling 513 MWp across several projects in final stages of development. The company reached financial close for three Segovia projects in February this year, and secured a loan for a fourth development in April.
