On Wednesday, JSW Energy announced that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Eleven, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply power from a 700 MW solar project.
This PPA is set for a duration of 25 years, with a tariff of ₹2.56 per kWh. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months, according to the company’s statement.
JSW Renew Energy Eleven Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy, secured the PPA for the ISTS-connected 700 MW solar capacity under SECI Tranche XIII.
JSW Energy has set an ambitious target to achieve 10 GW of operational capacity by FY25, currently boasting 7.9 GW across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources. Additionally, the company has locked in 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through a combination of battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to reach a total generation capacity of 20 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030.
