Juwi Shizen Energy inaugurates 121 MW solar plant in Hyogo Prefecture

juwi Shizen Energy Inc. has successfully completed the construction of a 121 MW (DC) solar power plant in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. This facility will provide approximately 85 MW (AC) of renewable energy to a major utility company, marking it as one of the largest solar power plants in the Kansai region.

The construction, which began in August 2021, took place on a former golf course spanning around 224 hectares. The project emphasized environmental and cost considerations, minimizing logging and land development. Advanced techniques, such as three-dimensional topographical data for pile mount design, were employed to maximize panel installation areas efficiently.

Notably, the construction phase achieved zero lost time incidents and completed electricity sales about four months ahead of schedule by enhancing work efficiency. This solar plant, the largest ever undertaken by juwi Shizen Energy, is projected to generate approximately 143 million kWh annually. This output is enough to power around 34,200 households and reduce CO2 emissions by roughly 41,000 tons per year.

With this project, juwi Shizen Energy has reached a cumulative total of approximately 712 MW (DC) of completed solar power plants.
