ENGIE, a global leader in energy transition and renewable power generation, announced the successful completion of the first solar farm project in Malaysia. In a significant achievement for renewable energy development in Malaysia, Kerian Solar has reached a major safety milestone of 1 million safe man-hours without any lost time injuries (LTIs) since the project began in 2020.
Located in the state of Perak, Malaysia, the project has a 100 MW (136.44 MWp) capacity and was developed by Kerian Solar, a special-purpose company formed by a joint venture between TTL Energy Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian solar developer, and ENGIE.
To celebrate this impressive achievement, the Kerian Solar team held a special event last week, marking the occasion with key highlights that brought together staff and key stakeholders.
The Kerian Solar project is a key component of Malaysia’s push toward increasing its renewable energy capacity as the country aims to generate 31% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025. ENGIE’s leadership in this endeavor not only highlights its commitment to global renewable energy goals but also sets a new standard for safety and operational excellence in the solar energy sector.
