Lighting up Iloilo: Panay Energy Development Corporation and IPG in the Philippines

The subsidiary of Global Business Power Corporation (GBP), Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC), recently provided support to the Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG) by allocating funds under the Energy Regulations (ER) 1-94.

The IPG handed over the 30KW Solar PV and Efficiency Project for CoViD Ward and Service Ward to Aleosan District Hospital. Additionally, a groundbreaking ceremony was conducted for the 30 KW Rooftop Solar PV + Streetlights and Efficiency Project Phase II for the same hospital.

These initiatives were made possible through the financial assistance from PEDC under the ER 1-94 program. This program ensures that communities hosting power generating facilities receive financial benefits from the electricity sales of the Generating Companies (GenCos).

The goal is to foster development in these communities and enhance collaboration between GenCos and host communities. ER 1-94 funds can be utilized for various projects including electrification, livelihood development, reforestation, watershed management, and health and environment enhancement.
