Renewable energy developer Neoenergia has made its entry on Spain's international index for Latin American securities known as Latibex.
Neoenergia is Iberdrola's Brazilian energy subsidiary, which controls five distribution companies in 18 states. It is regarded as a leading energy supplier, with 5200MW of installed capacity. Out of the total installations, 80% is green.
Neoenergia has become one of the largest listed companies on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange. Neoenergia is the nineteenth company listed on the Latibex and the twelfth from Brazil.
The latest development comes following the commercial operations of 468MW Chafariz wind farm by Neoenergia earlier this year. The farm complex is based in Sertao da Paraiba in Brazil.
Neoenergia CEO Mario Ruiz-Tagle, commented, "Our track record in Brazil has been built on solid financial discipline and investments in innovation and forward-looking technologies, which are accelerating the digital transformation of the electricity sector in the country."
He further stated that listing the shares on Latibex reinforces the company's commitment to sustainable and transparent management. The CEO was quoted saying that the listing on Latibex is the best way to expand its investor base in Europe.
