Dutch ground-mounted solar PV firm and independent power producer (IPP) Novar announced the acquisition of a large-scale solar project in Germany with an expected capacity of between 91 MWp and 156 MWp.
The project was acquired from Hamburg-based renewable power projects developer WiNRG and in a deal facilitated by financial advisory firm Capcora, according to a statement published on Wednesday.
The planned facility will be located in Lower Saxony. It is expected to reach a ready-to-build status by the second quarter of 2026.
Founded in 2014, Novar is active in deploying solar, battery energy storage, hydrogen production and heat storage, among other systems. It currently manages more than 600 projects and is targeting a 4-GW portfolio of renewables by 2030.
The company is backed by Global infrastructure investment manager DIF Capital
