OETC Allocates RO 11.5 Million to Enhance Power Network with New Al Jawabi Grid Station

To enhance performance, support sector growth, and improve the safety, reliability, and sustainability of Oman’s electricity transmission network, Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has completed the 132/33 kV Al Jawabi Grid Station. This project, including 132 kV overhead transmission lines extending 30 kilometers between Jalan Bani Bu Ali and Al Jawabi Grid Stations, represents an investment of over RO 11.5 million and was executed over 18 months with more than 1.3 million safe work hours.

Key features of the project include 132 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) with two feeders for overhead transmission lines and two feeders for 125 MVA transformers. It also comprises two 125 MVA transformers at 132/33 kV, 33 kV GIS, control and protection panels, SCADA systems, and advanced communication and monitoring systems.

Eng. Masoud bin Salam Al Riyami, Chief Operations Officer, underscored the company’s commitment to enhancing network reliability and sustainability.
