Peak Energy Signs 14-Year Solar PPA with Singapore Institute of Management for 900 kWp Rooftop Project

Singapore-based renewable energy developer Peak Energy has signed a 14-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) to supply renewable electricity from an onsite solar installation, supporting Singapore’s continued efforts to accelerate clean energy adoption in the commercial and institutional sectors.

Under the agreement, Peak Energy will provide approximately 1,100 MWh of solar electricity annually to SIM’s Clementi Road campus, helping the institution reduce its reliance on conventional electricity sources while increasing the use of locally generated renewable power.
As part of the long-term partnership, Peak Energy will take responsibility for the complete development of the solar project, including the design, financing, construction, ownership, and operation of an approximately 900 kWp onsite solar installation. SIM will purchase the renewable electricity generated by the system throughout the duration of the PPA, while Peak Energy will remain responsible for the project’s ongoing operations and maintenance activities.
The agreement enables SIM to access renewable energy without requiring upfront capital investment, allowing the institution to advance its sustainability objectives while maintaining financial flexibility. According to SIM, the solar PPA is expected to reduce its electricity costs by more than 45% compared with prevailing power prices.
The partnership reflects the growing adoption of third-party renewable energy models across Singapore, where commercial and institutional organizations are increasingly turning to long-term power purchase agreements to secure cleaner electricity supplies without directly investing in renewable energy infrastructure.
Through the agreement, Peak Energy will provide SIM with a stable source of renewable electricity while supporting the broader transition toward distributed solar generation in Singapore. Rooftop solar installations on commercial and institutional buildings have become an important pathway for increasing renewable capacity in land-constrained markets, where large-scale ground-mounted solar development opportunities remain limited.
Peak Energy continues to expand its renewable energy footprint across the Asia-Pacific region. The company currently operates more than 300 MW of renewable energy assets and has approximately 2 GW of projects under development across markets including Japan, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.
The agreement with SIM further strengthens Peak Energy’s presence in Singapore’s renewable energy market and highlights the increasing role of corporate and institutional solar procurement in supporting regional decarbonization goals.
